For many of us Christmas brings a time of indulgence, a time to just enjoy what we want to eat and drink and to hang with the consequences.
Needless to say that there are consequences. Aside from gaining a few pounds, my sleep pattern is to pot, my skin looks dull and blotchy and don’t even get me started on my stomach! Was it worth it?… Hell yeah!! Is my body screaming for normality now?… Absolutely.
So for me that means January detox.
Drinking a minimum of 2 litres of water, being mindful of what I am eating and how much of my plate is filled with vegetables. There are a lot of other things but this will do for a start (I will go into more detail in a seperate post).
As a qualified Aromatherapist I love to use essential oils around my home (which could also be the topic for another post, ha ha) and in my skincare regime. Oils such as Juniperberry, Grapefruit and Fennel have blood cleansing properties and are particularly good at encouraging the elimination of toxins. Where as spice oils such as Black Pepper, Ginger and Cardamom can stimulate the circulation and encourage the flow of lymph. Let’s not forget about citrus oils such as Grapefruit, Lemon and Sweet Orange which will encourage the flow of urine and hasten the elimination of toxins.
Combinations of these oils can be blended into a carrier oil, base lotion or even body scrub to be applied daily and this is something that I am able to offer to customers.
To kick start your January detox I am offering customers £5 off any full body Aromatherapy treatment when it is taken with a detoxifying blend!
Happy New Year folks!!
